THREE rape suspects are under current investigation for defiling teenage girls of between six and 12 years old. The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, in a monthly media chat in Asaba on Thursday, acknowledged and appreciated the collaborative efforts of sister security agencies and the public for the achievements recorded in February.
The three suspects under investigation for defiling the minors included 20-year-old Saturday Kilo of Urhudiagbon Street, Kokori, Ethiope East, 24-year-old Austine Udio of No. 25 Atavere Street, Off Ekuigbo, Ughelli, and Emmanuel Omonigho, 62 years old from Ekpan, Ethiope East local government area of the state.
Suspect Kilo, according to the police boss, defiled seven-year-old Miss Favour Minna after sending her to buy cigarettes for him.
Udio, a carpenter, on the other hand, was caught defiling six-year-old Miss Oghene Kobiro on February 6 in an uncompleted building where he was doing roofing work while Omonigho lured 12-year-old Miss Mercy Okokoyo, who was sent on an errand on February 19 to his house, defiled and gave her N20 to keep mute.
He stated that the defilement cases were being handled by the Defilement/Human Trafficking Section SCID of the command.
Meanwhile, no fewer than four kidnap cases are being investigated with 16 kidnap suspects arrested in the month of February in the state.

According to CP Mustafa, seven cult suspects, five armed robbery cases, four robbery suspects, two murder cases and three murder suspects are being prosecuted and investigated by the command.
He also disclosed that seven locally-made guns, two cartridges, three AK47 rifles and 193 rounds of ammunition, as well as a vehicle, were recovered from the hoodlums across the state.
