The party chairman, while making the call, cited President Tinubu’s commitment, rare courage shown thus far and his impactful style of governance, urging Nigerians to give him their maximum cooperation to ensure a better future for all.
The party chieftain described Tinubu’s approach to governance as unique given the current dire situation of the nation and how he had been handling it based on the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration towards achieving a greater Nigeria, urging all to cooperate with him and eschew corruption and self-interest.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s target is for the goodness of all; his moves for Nigeria’s development and Lagos State will not be in vain. I urge you to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for he has shown more commitment and rare courage to the renewed hope agenda.
“I urge us all to cooperate with him and eschew corruption and self-interest,” he said.
Imam Lawal (Amir Ikhwan), in his lecture titled ‘Holding on to our faith in this perilous time’, harped on the peculiarities of the economic situation currently facing the country, citing human factors as the root cause of how worsening it had become.
Amir Awwal emphasised the challenge of the Nigerian President at this time, with opposition being integral for every leader’s success, but quickly enjoined citizens to change their thinking and the way they talk to get the best of their leaders.
The Islamic scholar, while noting that perseverance, patience and contentment were the keys to success, said those who had no religion in the United States of America always prayed daily that God bless America.
“To be a president in this country, you will experience opposition. Even the ones who had no religion in the United States of America always pray daily that God bless America. I urge you to change your thinking and the way you talk to get the best of our leaders,” he said.
Sheikh Solaty, in his own lecture titled: ‘Ramadan in the Modern World: Challenges and Opportunities for Muslims’, observed that most of those who had been raised by someone but refused to raise others were the ones hindering even distribution of wealth in Nigeria.
The lecturer urged those up there to help those beneath, even as challenged those lifted by President Tinubu Asiwaju to point at how many people they have lifted, saying that they should use public money “to amass wealth, buying cars and building houses, buying properties abroad,” while trying to jettison those who gave them needed support to emerge as leaders.
The State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Layode, in his remark, charged the gathering to take a cue from all the great lectures delivered at the event, pointing the faithful to right way of living and doing exploits.
The commissioner also urged Lagosians to cooperate with the developmental drive of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, even as he also called for interfaith harmony in the state.
