The Chief Executive Officer of Daka Foundation, Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu, popularly known as KSO, has urged the Muslims to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammed, as he also sends his goodwill message to the Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Ramadan period.

He also charged them to place their hope in God because the country is currently witnessing hardship.

Abidikugu, who is a Nigerian United Kingdom-based psychiatric consultant, said the Muslims should use the period of Ramadan, during which Muslims refrain from eating and drinking between sunrise and sunset, to pray for the political leaders at the state and federal level for God to direct them for the betterment of the masses and the country as a whole.

He said Ramadan offers another chance for Muslims to rededicate themselves to the worship of Allah.

Describing Ramadan as an important pillar of Islam, Abidikugu said the fasting period humbles both the rich and the poor, who are both expected to go without food between sunrise and sunset for 30 days.

He noted that a true and committed Muslim is known during Ramadan and urged the adherents of the Islamic faith to use the period for spiritual cleansing and healing and also to pray for the peace of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general.

Abidikugu also use the opportunity to call on adherents of various religions to love one another and live together in peace.

He said, ”I congratulate Muslims in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Nigeria in general on the commencement of Ramadan because it is a privilege to witness that of 2025.

“I urge them to use this period to move closer to Allah and rededicate themselves to the teachings of the Holy Quran as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“As we seek the face of Allah in this holy month, let us hold dear those lessons of the holy Prophet and pray earnestly for peace in the country.

“As a people, we can achieve a lot more in a peaceful atmosphere, and all that is required is love for one another and commitment to work for the peace and unity of the country.”

“Let us also use this solemn period to pray for our leaders that God should direct them rightly towards bringing prosperity to our nation.”
