Former Nigerian Ambassador to Iran and Jordan, and a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, Ambassador Faruku Malami Yabo, has donated ₦10 million to support party leaders in the state during Ramadan.
According to Yabo, the donation is aimed at alleviating economic hardship and ensuring that party executives and members can observe the holy month with ease.
Speaking on behalf of Yabo during the presentation of the donation, Alhaji Kabiru Hali, former chairman of the Sokoto State Traders Association and a PDP stalwart, urged party members to remain steadfast. He also called for unity and collective efforts towards strengthening the party at all levels in the state.

This latest contribution follows an earlier ₦20 million donation by Yabo for the welfare of PDP members and leaders in Sokoto.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the state PDP chairman, Bello Aliyu Goronyo, the party’s treasurer, Alhaji Yahaya Dallatu, expressed gratitude for Yabo’s continued support.
“We assure you of our commitment to uniting party members and working towards victory in the 2027 general elections,” Dallatu stated.
Yabo, a former deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections and a governorship aspirant in 2023, defected to the PDP, where he now plays a key role in the party’s activities in Sokoto State.
