A former member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Shehu Bawa ABG has shared cash to orphans, vulnerable households and loyal party members of People’s Democratic party (PDP), across 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State to ease the economic hardship during the Month of Ramadan.
The former federal legislator who is aspiring to be PDP’s Gubernatorial candidate in the next general elections of 2027 in Kaduna was meant to ease the hardship being experience by vulnerable as well as the poor .
Speaking in an interview with newsmen the chairman of Distribution Committee of the former State Secretary of PDP Aliyu Wusono, aided by Simon Araba, Ex-Rep member of Lere Federal Constituency said the gesture was intended to cushion the effect of rising prices of essential food items consumed by Muslim and Christian faithfuls in the fasting season which he said had gone beyond the reach of most households.
“This act of generosity by the Shehu Bawa ABG Foundation has been warmly received with gratitude from the beneficiaries, especially loyal party members who didn’t expect that their sacrifice and commitment to PDP over the years have been acknowledged and rewarded.
“This is also to show our party members that they won’t be forgotten, despite being in the opposition with no patronage from the system.
“It is our wish that ABG clings the governorship ticket of our party and eventually becoming our Governor in 2027 so that the state will benefit from his exemplary leadership qualities, passion and compassion for the masses, ” he declared.
In the spirit of Ramadan, some feeding centres across the state where people go and break their fasting were established.
The former scribe said “over Two hundred and fifty Million Naira (250 million Naira) were expanded as were drawn from all 23 Local Government Areas of the state included disadvantaged families as well as party members of the opposition PDP members loyal to the party.
