The Nigeria Muslim League Group (NIMUL) has hailed the Minister of State for Defense, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, for his exceptional act of generosity during Ramadan, donating over N500 million and massive food supplies to support the less privileged.
This initiative was aimed at easing the economic hardship faced by thousands in Zamfara and neighboring North-Western states.
NIMUL commended Matawalle for his direct and transparent distribution of Ramadan palliatives ranging from foodstuffs to financial aid benefiting countless vulnerable individuals across Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, and Kebbi states.
The group’s National Coordinator, Professor Mika’il Jibrin, described Matawalle’s effort as one of the most impactful private initiatives, reaching thousands without government backing.

“This is one of the largest individual donations made to relieve the suffering of people in the region,” he stated.
Recently, Minister Matawalle personally oversaw the distribution of over N500 million across all 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara, prioritizing those struggling with economic hardship during Ramadan.
Professor Jibrin praised the well-organized and fair distribution process, ensuring that aid reached the intended recipients without complications.
While reports suggest that some politicians were among the beneficiaries in Zamfara, NIMUL emphasized that Matawalle’s generosity extended beyond political lines, reaching various groups across multiple states.
In addition to direct cash and food aid, the group highlighted Matawalle’s significant contributions to mosques, charitable organizations, and the establishment of free feeding centers in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Kaduna.
“His charitable efforts have provided relief to low-income families, orphans, and the vulnerable at a crucial time,” NIMUL noted.
The group also acknowledged similar efforts by other state governments and urged recipients of these donations to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for national unity, peace, and an end to insecurity in the region.
