Rahama leads siblings into reality TV with ‘Sadau Sisters’

Published by

Another Nigerian Original reality television series, ‘Sadau Sisters’, starring popular Nigerian actress, Rahama Sadau, alongside her three sisters, Aisha, Fatima and Zainab is set to debut this month on Showmax from February 12.

‘Sadau Sisters’ follows the lives of Rahama, an award-winning actress and star of the family, who is no stranger to controversy; Zainab, a baker, restaurateur and rising star; Aisha, a make-up artist and the peace-maker of the family; and Fatima, a fashion model and the baby of the house. As they navigate the intricacies of sisterhood, not only do they discover gripping facts about each other, but they also deal with family traumas and controversies, in the hopes of finding healing.

Rahama Sadau is an award-winning Nigerian actress, model, producer, and media personality who gained prominence when she joined Kannywood, the Hausa-language movie industry, in 2013, starring in her debut film, Gani Ga Wane. She has since appeared in a number of Hausa-language and English-language films and series, including ‘Sons of the Caliphate’ and its sequel War: Wrath and Revenge, MTV Shuga, Chief Daddy 2 and Up North.

In 2016, she was invited to star in the Hollywood film ‘America King’ by Akon. In addition to acting, she also produces her own movies, including ‘Mati A Zazzau’,’Rariya’, and ‘Dan Iya’. As one of the few Kannywood actors to break into mainstream Nollywood, Rahama’s talent and versatility have earned her a significant following in Nigeria and beyond.

“I am thrilled to be doing this show, and even moreso with my sisters who are simply my favourite people in the world,” says Rahama, who is also the executive producer of the series. “This show presents a unique opportunity for me to share a more personal side of my life with viewers and my fans. I am grateful to Showmax for providing a platform to tell our stories, and I can’t wait for everyone to join us on this incredible adventure.”

Set against the background of strong religious and cultural beliefs, the debut season will see the sisters reunite in a new home and city – a move that uncovers many secrets about their family. Each episode will take viewers on a captivating journey of the personal lives of these young, northern Nigerian women as they juggle the demands of fame, family and everything in between.

‘Sadau Sisters’ is part of the exciting content slate that Showmax is set to release for the relaunch of the Showmax app on February 9.

Other titles set for release include the highly anticipated second season of AMVCA-nominated ‘Flawsome’, romcom ‘The Counsellor’, and ‘Freemen’, a documentary on the celebrated Igbo apprenticeship system.
