‘Quack doctor’ in police net for allegedly dumping woman’s corpse on the road after abortion in Osun

Authorities of the Osun State Police Command have arrested a ‘quack doctor’ identified as Najeem Adejumo for allegedly dumping the corpse of a woman on the roadside after allegedly performing an abortion on her in his clinic.

The corpse of the 30-year-old woman, known as Yetunde Iya Farida, was said to have been found on Tuesday by the police on the roadside at Idi-Isin area of Ikirun in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

Credible source told Tribune Online that the woman who resided in Are-Ago compound of Ikirun, visited Omoniyi Private Hospital belonging to the ‘quack doctor’ for abortion.

She was said to have died during the abortion and the man reportedly carried her remains and allegedly dropped it on the roadside.

The man, who was later apprehended by the police, was said to have confessed that the woman died in his hospital during the course of aborting her pregnancy.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Osun State Police command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the development, saying the Commissioner of Police, Mr Babatunde Kokumo, had ordered investigation into the incident.
