The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Nigeria has refuted widely circulated online reports that claimed new and stricter visa regulations have been imposed on Nigerian travelers.
In a phone conversation with Tribune Online, an official from the embassy stated, “There has been no suspension or changes to the current procedures.”
The denial comes after an online report went viral, listing several new requirements for Nigerians, including a mandatory return transfer booking and hotel reservation before a visa can be processed.
The report also claimed that only women or families could apply and that a stay in a 5-star hotel was now a requirement for visa qualification.
The Qatari Embassy’s statement directly contradicts these claims, advising the public to rely solely on information published on its official channels for accurate travel requirements.
