An Adamawa High Court sitting in Yola, presided over by Justice Nathan Musa, on Thursday, has asked the Inspector General of the Federation in conjunction with the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) to produce the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison Madueke.
This is to enable her face prosecution over the N362 million she sent to two INEC staff in order to compromise the 2015 presidential election in Adamawa State.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had brought the case against Ibrahim Mohammed Umar and Sahabo Iya Hamman, both staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the former Minister of Petroleum for conspiring to defraud the federal government of with the intent to compromise the 2015 general election.

Justice Musa noted that the court delivered the verdict after due diligence which established a conspiracy between the three.
As such, he convicted and sentenced the two INEC staff to seven years each on the three count charges brought against them by EFCC.
He added that since they are first term offenders, the sentence will run concurrently.
“The offence has a mandatory provision. I’m constraints by the law. They shall be sentenced to 7 years imprisonment without option of fine.
“However, in view of plea to temper justice with mercy, I will allow the sentence to run concurrently,” he said.
