Primaries: Kano, Niger protesters storm APC secretariat

THE disaffection against the primaries conducted by the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), swelled as aggrieved protesters stormed the party national secretariat.

The protesters from Kano and Niger States were protesting against the outcome of the National Assembly primaries.

In an unsigned petition addressed to APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, those from Kano State called for the cancellation of the primary that produced incumbent Senator representing Kano South Senatorial district, Kabiru Gaya. They further demanded that the ticket is retrieved from Senator Gaya and handed to Abdulrahaman Kawu, whom they claimed won the election.

Another group of protesters from Niger State also stormed the secretariat and barricaded its main gate, making vehicular movement impossible.
