
Parading the suspects before newsmen on Tuesday in Osogbo, Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye said the security agency would not leave any stone unturned in fishing out criminals and make them face the full wrath of law in Nigeria.
The armed robbery suspects, namely Adeleke Timothy (40yrs) of Owode Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Akoodu Olufemi (42yrs) of Arola Street, Apete Area, Ibadan, Oyo State, Kehinde Badmos (42yrs), who resides in No 3, Oyelade Street, Agunbelewo, Osogbo and Adenle Babatunde Olusola (40yrs) of Powerline Area, Osogbo, Osun State were said to have been members of syndicate, stealing cars from South West states.
According to Adeoye, the suspects were apprehended following a reported case of a stolen vehicle in December 22nd, 2017, which was transferred from Area Commander’s office, Osogbo, together with one Toyota Camry with registration number BDJ 519 EY, the property of Mrs Nasir Olanike Fatima.
He explained that “the property was removed from where parked at Osunbukola Street, Dada Estate area, Osogbo. Having receipt of the case, a team of F-SARS operatives led by ASP Oshimi A. Aderonke and team under the command of SP Adaramola O. Felix swung into action where investigations led the team to Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Edo and Osun states, where the ringleader, Kehinde Badmos and other gang members were arrested”.
Adeoye further hinted that “12 Toyota Camry cars, four Toyota Corolla, one Toyota Highlander Jeep and one Nissan Sunny cars were recovered from them. The suspects all confessed to the crime and efforts were still on to get owners of the recovered vehicles and also recover more stolen vehicles, while the suspects would be arraigned in court soonest”.
The Police boss said other exhibits retrieved from the suspects also include one locally made pistol, one live cartridge/one expended, charms and 13 pieces of six yards of Ankara.
