The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended a woman for the alleged gruesome murder of her husband in Abuja. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Rahimat Salaum, was arrested by operatives attached to the Pegi Police Division on July 29, 2024, at around 6:00 p.m., following credible intelligence.
According to the police, Rahimat Salaum was attempting to flee with the belongings of her paralyzed husband, who had been missing for about three days. She was apprehended while loading the items into a mini-truck, raising suspicion among the police operatives.
Upon interrogation, Rahimat Salaum confessed to the gruesome murder of her husband after a heated argument escalated into violence. She then led the police to an uncompleted building where she had disposed of her husband’s charred remains. The discovery of the gruesomely burned body has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The FCT Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this gruesome murder.
