The Kano State Police Command has arrested and charged a female-led theft syndicate, dealing a significant blow to crime in the state.
The syndicate, led by Shamsiyya Adamu, was apprehended along with four other members and arraigned at Chief Magistrates Court 18 in Gyadi Gyadi, Kano. They face charges of conspiracy, trespassing, and theft.
In a related operation, the police arrested four additional suspects – Fati Auwal, Kamal Sale, Usman Nasir, and Bashir Ibrahim – for theft and possession of stolen goods. A total of 12 mobile devices were seized from the suspects.
According to the police, 86 reports have been received from victims, highlighting the extensive reach of the syndicate’s operations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has commended the public for their support in the investigation and ordered the police to continue recovering stolen phones.
