Police have confirmed the invitation of two members of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) in connection with alleged attempted murder and unlawful possession of firearms.

The invitees are identified as Alhaji Akerm Akinola, a.k.a. Kusi and another Segun ( surname yet unknown)

The duo were said to have been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Omi Adio in the Ido local government area at the weekend.

But the Oyo Police Command, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, said they were invited by the operatives from the Force Headquarters, Abuja not abducted as made to believe

The statement read in part,’ The duo were invited by intelligence operatives who were on lawful duty from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in connection with their alleged involvements in criminal offences, which include criminal conspiracy, attempted murder, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms.

“The complaint is under investigation, and an update will be provided in due course.”

It thereby reassured the residents of the Commands’ total commitment to securing lives and property, as well as enjoined them to always provide timely and credible information capable of nipping crime in the bud to the police at all times.

It added, ‘As the saying goes,” if you see something, say something, and the police will do something.”
