The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Ojesanmi Afeez, popularly known as Oloba Salo, has been hospitalised following a gun attack in Lagos.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday 11, October 2024 with details of the shooting still under investigation.
In a statement released on Friday by the Lagos PPRO, Benjamin commending Evercare Hospital in Lekki for their swift response in treating the gunshot victim.
The hospital promptly provided medical care and notified the Police, a move that has drawn praise for complying with the compulsory treatment and care of victims of gunshots Act.

“We express special appreciation to Evercare Hospital for not only accepting and commencing immediate medical treatment of Ojesanmi Afeez, but also for alerting law enforcement authorities right away,” the Police said.
“This is a commendable step in ensuring that gunshot victims receive the necessary care without delay.”
The Compulsory Treatment and Care of Victims of Gunshots Act mandates medical facilities to treat individuals with gunshot wounds, even before a Police report is obtained, ensuring lives are prioritized over procedural delays.
The Police urged other hospitals to follow suit and stop rejecting gunshot victims, as it is critical to saving lives and complying with the law.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of Oloba Salo are ongoing, and further updates will be provided by law enforcement.
