Police arrest teenager for defiling seven-year-old girl in Ondo

POLICE in Ondo State has arrested a 16-year-old girl, Emeyinola Ayomide, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl in Ode Irele the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to the police, Ayomide took the little girl to a corner and dipped her finger into the seven-year-old girl’s private part, breaking her hymen.

It was gathered that the victim was said to be bleeding heavily and was rushed to a private hospital where she was treated.

The police, however, said the command has been investigating the development to unravel the reasons the teenager was involved in such activity.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph , who confirmed the incident said the suspect had confessed to the crime after the arrest.

Joseph explained that the victim initially mentioned one Femi Odofin as being responsible for the dastardly act but she later named one Ayomide, who was later arrested.

He said, ” we can confirm that the suspect had been arrested and she confessed to having done it. She told us that she ( victim) was rude to her and she wanted to punish her, that was why she took that action. But we think there is more to that.

“The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the matter should be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the command, while the investigation was ongoing.”

A brother of the victim, Mr Taiwo Ilelaboye said he was the first person to observe that the little girl was bleeding from the private part, so he quickly rushed her to the hospital before inviting the police into the matter.

He said “We know the perpetrator, she is a girl and not a man as being circulated. She is an indigene of this town and she has been handed over to the police for legal action, the little girl is still in the hospital.”
