Published by

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended 19-year-old Fatimo Agboke in connection with the fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Faruk Azeez in the Ijegun area of Lagos.

On September 9, 2024, at approximately 9:20 pm, an argument between Agboke and Azeez escalated into a violent altercation.

During the fight, Agboke allegedly stabbed Azeez in the neck with a broken bottle, inflicting grievous injuries.

In an attempt to rush Azeez to the hospital for urgent medical attention, his father was unable to save his son’s life. Azeez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Following a complaint lodged by Azeez’s father at the Isheri-Osun Division, detectives visited the crime scene, where they found Azeez’s lifeless body in a pool of blood with deep cuts on his neck.

Agboke was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. The victim’s body has been deposited at Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.

Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and stated that the command is committed to ensuring justice is served.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges against Agboke are pending.
