The teenagers, Abel Miracle, 12years and David Agbagidi 14years, according to the police statement signed by its Spokesman, DSP Asinim Butswat were arrested at 10am shortly after stealing the money.
He noted that the amount stolen was One Hundred and Thirty Thousand, Four Hundred naira that was recovered by the police command.
Continuing, Butswat noted that after stealing the money from the yet to be identified victim, they boarded a tricycle from Swali Community to Kpansia, but luck ran out on them as the driver listen to their conversation and alerted policemen at the Julius Berger round about close to the NNPC filling station in Yenagoa.
The statement reads “The driver of the Tricycle, Jacob Philip drove to the Julius Berger roundabout and alerted Policemen that he suspected the two children he was carrying were thieves. The children took to their heels and we’re chased and arrested by the Policemen.
Butswat, averred that after interrogation the teenagers confessed that they stole the money from a bag belonging to an unknown person at the swali waterside and that the amount was one hundred and thirty thousand, four hundred naira.
The Police Public Relation Officer, however, noted that the teenagers are in police custody and that investigation into the matter is ongoing.
