Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a suspected burglar in connection with an incident at a hotel located along Afaha Eket Road in Eket Local Government Area.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the incident occurred on July 25, 2025. At about 2:00 p.m. that day, a hotel security officer reported to the police that the storehouse of the facility had been broken into, and several newly acquired bar chairs were stolen.
Preliminary investigations pointed to one Mr. Ifeanyi Nnadozie, a security staff member of the hotel, as the prime suspect. He was promptly apprehended by police operatives.
Further inquiries revealed that Mr. Nnadozie was on duty the day before the incident occurred. A search conducted at his residence led to the recovery of the stolen bar chairs.
The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime and will be charged in court upon conclusion of investigations.
However, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command reiterated its commitment to crime prevention and swift justice, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
