Operatives of Niger State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Abdullahi Garba, for housebreaking and theft of 33 wrappers worth one million naira.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Danmamman, who stated this while parading the suspect before the newsmen on Thursday, alongside other suspected criminals said the suspect broke into the house while the owner was in church.
The Police Boss added that “On November 29th, 2024 at about 1030hrs, Police Operation Flush patrol team of Bosso Division, while on a routine stop and search at Imrat Junction, Bosso intercepted a tricycle conveying four passengers from Maikunkele to Bosso”.

He stated further that the passengers were subjected to a search and a sack belonging to one of the passengers, named Abdullahi Garba was found with 10 new wrappers, stressing that when questioned, he was said to have appeared suspicious and could not give a satisfactory account of the clothes.
The CP said, the suspect was arrested and taken to the Division for further investigation, and during interrogation, he confessed that he stole about thirty-three wrappers valued about one million naira from a residence around Maitumbi on 24/11/2024.
Speaking further, Danmmaman noted that the owner (victim) was traced and contacted, highlighting that she narrated that when she returned from Church Service on the said date, aand she discovered that her bedroom was burgled through the window and over sixty wrappers were stolen.
He however assured that the suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.
