The Lagos Police Command has arrested a driver, Okeke Johnchris, for allegedly killing a 33-year-old man, William Wisdom, in the Ikoyi area of the state.
The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, after a heated argument between the two individuals at Falomo Square, Ikoyi. Okeke allegedly rammed his Lexus saloon car into William, inflicting severe injuries that led to his death at Gbagada General Hospital.
The police have also apprehended five suspected criminals, including traffic robbers, and recovered arms and ammunition from them in different parts of the state.
In one incident, a suspected hoodlum, Wisdom Obi, was intercepted by policemen from the Satellite Division while riding an unregistered motorcycle, and a brownie pistol with 13 rounds of live ammunition was discovered concealed within an MP3 radio.
Additionally, four suspected traffic robbers – Kadir Ibrahim, Ifeanyin John, Oduwole Shola, and Rilwan Olajuwon – were apprehended by officers from the Orile Iganmu Division while attempting to rob passengers of a broken-down vehicle.
The police have cautioned citizens against violent confrontations and encouraged those offended to seek proper redress through stipulated legal procedures.
They also advised citizens to exercise vigilance and be wary of the cunning schemes of traffic robbers.
