Police arrest 7 over attack on Osun NURTW member

Osun State Police Command have arrested seven suspected thugs, in connection with an alleged attack on the current vice-chairman of NURTW Gbongan branch 2 on Wednesday.

The State Police Command spokesperson, Mrs Yemisi Opalola who made the report of the attack known in a statement in Osogbo, stated that “as a result of the attack, he sustained deep cut on his head through machete cut and other dangerous weapons being inflicted on him by the suspects in an attempt to take over the union office from him’

“Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police officer in the town led his operatives to the crime scene and the suspects’ hideout, where seven males including their ring leader, Nurudeen Sule a.k.a Biggy were arrested.”

Opalola who revealed that the victim had been taken to “Our Lady’s Catholic Hospital, Ipetumodu for medical treatment, also confirmed that one short gun was recovered from them.

She hinted that further investigations have commenced on the matter.
