Pilgrimage now journey of spiritual development, rejuvenation — NCPC boss

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has declared that the Christian pilgrimage is now a journey of spiritual development and rejuvenation.

He made this statement during his first official visit to the NCPC North Central zonal office in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, recently.

According to Bishop Adegbite, under his leadership, the spiritual content of Christian pilgrimage will be enhanced and rejuvenated, alongside the developmental content of pilgrimage.

He emphasized that the era when pilgrimage was considered a jamboree is over.

The NCPC boss commended the efforts of the zonal staff for their commitment and hard work, stating, “If we do not have you here, we cannot be everywhere.”

Bishop Adegbite urged the staff of the North Central zonal office to continue putting in their best, stating that he would look into the issue of their office accommodation to provide a better alternative.

He also enjoined them to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed TInubu, stressing that the President means well for the country.

The Commission has declared this year as “our year of Renewed Hope and Satisfaction,” in tandem with the new Corporate Slogan of the Commission, “NCPC… Service and Satisfaction.”

Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator, North Central zonal office, Mr. Aso Simon, welcomed the Executive Secretary to the zone. He affirmed that the visit would uplift them spiritually and morally.

He urged the Executive Secretary to ensure that the zones are carried along in the scheme of things, such as screening of intending pilgrims and participation in airport supervision within the zone.

The North Central zonal office is the fourth zonal office the Executive Secretary has visited since assuming office over 100 days ago.
