Physically challenged shoemaker named ‘hero of the month’ in Kwara

A humanitarian group in Kwara State, Gobir Organization Foundation, has presented an award of Hero of the Month to a physically challenged man, Solihu Toyin Abdulrahman, who specializes in shoemaking.

The Hero of the month award is a monthly programme designed by the foundation to uplift and encourage those doing extraordinary feats in all walks of life.

Solihu Toyin, a married man with kids, who resides in the Sabo area of Bode Saadu, Moro local government area of Kwara State specializes in the production of different sizes of shoes.

The award presentation was held at Sabo, Bode Saadu, Moro local government area of Kwara State.

Mr. Solihu, while receiving the award, expressed happiness and gratitude to Gobir Organization Foundation for the succour given to him.

He, therefore, charged physically challenged people like him not to lose hope and always believe in themselves.

The chairman, shoemaker association of Nigeria, Moro local government chapter, Mr. Lukman Adam, described him as an intellectual and hardworking individual, adding that, despite his challenges, he never gave up.

Also speaking, the head, media publicity for the organization, Hajia Eyitanwa Lawal, said that the move is consistent with the corporate social responsibility policy aimed specifically to uplift the underprivileged members of society.

She added that the organization will continue to do more.
