The coffin of Pope Francis arrived at the Santa Maria Maggiore basilica in Rome on Saturday for burial, following a grand funeral ceremony held at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
TRIBUNE ONLINE earlier reported the Pope passed away on Monday at the age of 88.
Tens of thousands of people lined the streets as the coffin was carried in a procession to the basilica, paying their final respects to the beloved Pope.
The funeral was attended by world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.
