PHOTOS: LAMATA begins test- run of Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) commenced a controlled test run of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line, marking a significant milestone ahead of its commercial launch .

The Lagos State transport family members, led by the Honorable Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, attended the test run, including passengers, on Wednesday, 28th August 2024.

The event gathered key transport officials from the Ministry of Transportation and related agencies such as the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIO), LAGFERRY, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), and Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA).

During this initial passenger testing phase, participants had the opportunity to experience the Red Line’s comfort, convenience, and efficiency.

Their feedback is expected to be crucial in refining the system to better serve the residents of Lagos.

The test ride is set to continue tomorrow, furthering LAMATA’s efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the rail project.
