Philanthropist and founder, Ide Global Movement, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor has officially handed over ‘Umuawulu Security House’ which he single-handedly built to the community to enhance security operations in protecting life and property.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the one-storey security house sited at Agbana quarters Umuawulu, in Awka South Local Government Area of the State, will serve as the operational headquarters of the community’s security outfit.
The commissioning of the facility attracted the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, the traditional Prime Minister, Dr Emma Ezenwaji, cabinet chiefs, security guards and youths of the community.
Handing over the facility, Chief Ekweozor who said that the donation was his continued show of love for his community and commitment towards contributing his quota to the socio-economic development and security of the town, added that enhancement of security will help to checkmate crime and attract investments to the area.
Chief Ekweozor commended the traditional ruler, members of his Cabinet Chiefs, and community security for their untiring support and cooperation in securing the community, and enjoined everyone to join hands against drug abuse, which he said is a factor leading to insecurity.
Commissioning the facility, the traditional ruler of Umuawulu Igwe Egwuonwu on behalf of the entire community, prayed and appreciated Chief Ekweozor for the gesture, describing him as a devoted and committed illustrious son of the community that has proven himself worthy to be emulated as a result of his continuous exhibition of exemplary character.
The traditional Prime Minister, Dr Ezenwaji, the Chief Security Officer of the community, Chief Ben Okafor and the President of Agbana quarters, Umuawulu, Mr Chike Okpala, in their separate remarks while thanking the benefactor for making security a top priority and complementing the effort of Governor Charles Soludo in tackling insecurity to the barest minimum, they all pledged to support in the fight again insecurity, to enable the community become a safe haven for socio-economic activities in the council area.
