The General Secretary of the Oyo Park Management System (PMS), Comrade Oluwatomiwa Omolewa, on Tuesday, gave details of how his men foiled what he called a kidnap attempt on the Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the body, Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi also known as Auxilliary.
Omolewa said that the PMS strongly suspects that some vested interests were behind the plot to kidnap Auxilliary and rope him into a devilish agenda.
Omolewa, who addressed newsmen in the company of the Deputy Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the PMS, Alhaji Jimoh Tajudeen, at state Secretariat, Ibadan, said that the PMS members raised eyebrows immediately the persons came to its headquarters at Podo demanding that Auxiliary immediately follows them on the orders of the Inspector General of Police.
Omolewa said they even became more curious when they did not see anyone from the Oyo police command on the team said to be from the force headquarters.
He said the team was finally discarded when they could not produce their identity cards as policemen when they were asked to.
When asked whether the incident could have anything to do with the Iwo Road incident which claimed the life of Rahmon Azeez, the PMS Secretary said that the Police had already arrested suspects in that case and that none of the suspects confessed that they was sent by Auxilliary.
He held that any attempt to illegally arrest or rope its Chairman will fail, positing that the Auxiliary will continue to be on the side of the law.
