PDP to Kogi: Retrace your step

THE Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday said the people of the state should fully return to the party following the events in the state in the last one year.

The party said the one year All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration in the state has brought untold hardship to the people.

A statement by the director research and documentation of the party, Dicson Achadu, described the last one year administration of the APC in the state as one characterised by in- fighting, lack of accountability and wickedness against the state.

The statement lamented that unlike in the past, what obtains under the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration was an unending fight between the Executive and the party in the State.

While noting that the State in the last one year has accrued so much with nothing to show for it, the party said there was no need for the celebration put together by government to mark its one year in office.

The PDP said it sympathised with workers in the state, who in the midst of naked hardship they have been subjected to by the APC led administration, the administration preferred to plant flowers in the dry season than have the workforce enjoy a new lease of life.

The PDP condemned in strong terms the over one year screening exercise of Kogi State workers, leading to deaths and loss of jobs of 70 percent of the state’s workforce.

The statement urged the people of the state to retrace their steps and return to the PDP, noting that it has shown that while in government the PDP governed with human face, with every segment of the state carried along in the scheme of things.

The PDP described the crisis rocking the state APC as nemesis catching up on it for forcefully taken what does not belong to it in the last Kogi Governorship election, affirming that the state remained a PDP state.
