Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of the iconic duo Psquare, has sounded a strong warning to fans and young Nigerians about the dangers of succumbing to social media-driven comparisons.
Taking to his Instagram story, the award-winning artist expressed deep frustration at what he described as a culture of constant pressure fueled by online commentary. According to him, today’s generation has allowed unhealthy narratives about “class,” “level,” and “maturity” to dictate their lives.
“Aswear, this generation na ma**t people full am!! Haba!! Everything na comparison, class, level, maturity, bla bla bla… And na mumu go still listen to this pøor mentality psychøs, then come go put themselves under pressure. Like w**f!!!” he wrote.
Paul criticised the growing trend where many, instead of focusing on their own growth, allow the words of self-proclaimed counsellors on social media to influence their decisions and even their mental well-being.

The singer’s outburst reflects wider concerns in society about the effects of online influence, where curated lifestyles and constant comparisons often create unrealistic standards.
He noted that those who fall for such gimmicks end up carrying unnecessary burdens while chasing illusions.
For Paul, the key message was clear: fans must resist the temptation of living for validation and avoid falling into the trap of measuring themselves against others.
