Paramilitary board disclaims press statement over fire service recruitment

Published by

The Civil Defence Correctional Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has denounced a circulating press release claiming that the Board hosted Federal Fire Service executives to discuss service delivery and ongoing recruitment.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary to the Board, clarified that no such meeting occurred, and no such press release was issued by the CDCFIB.

The statement clarified that the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, did not preside over any meeting with Federal Fire Service executives regarding service delivery or recruitment, as falsely stated in the press release.

The CDCFIB condemned the fake release as a product of recruitment syndicates and unscrupulous individuals aiming to damage the Board’s reputation.
