Osinbajo stated this on Friday during a visit to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, and stressed it while addressing residents of the town at Soun Ogunlola Hall, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Osinbajo was received on behalf of the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi by theĀ Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo. Other political functionaries in the team include Political Adviser to the President, Senator Babafemi Ojudu; Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Olagunju Ojo;Ā senator representing Oyo North senatorial district, Senator Fatai Buhari, Honourable Segun Odebunmi and others.
He said despite the paucity of funds the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had executed numerous lofty programmes and projects such asĀ TraderMoni, Home Grown School Feeding Programme, N-Power, MarkerMoni, rehabilitation and construction of many roads, construction of railways, among others.
The vice president further added that the Federal Government would not relent in executing more laudable programmes, maintaining that the number of beneficiaries of Home Grown Feeding ProgrammeĀ would be increased fromĀ 9.2 million children to 12 million whileĀ 500,000 beneficiaries of N-Power would be leap-frogged to 1.5 million.
According to him: “Since we assumed office, we decided that we would work for the development of the country despite the paucity of funds. Even with the paucity of funds, we would be executing one project after the others. We decided to be prudent.

” We have executed many programmes and projects such as TraderMoni, Home Grown School Feeding Programme, N-Power and others. 9.2 million children are being fed under the school feeding programme; we will increase the number of beneficiaries to 12 million. 500,000 people are beneficiaries of N-Power; we are going to increase it to 1.5 million beneficiaries.
“Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be commissioned by the end of the month. We are working towards bringing more development to Nigeria. The road which is very important to us is Oyo/Ilorin/Ogbomoso road will soon complete it”.
Osinbajo, who described the Soun of Ogbomoso as his real father apart from being a royal father, added that the monarch has a vision for the development of Yoruba land.
At the Soun Ogunlola Town Hall, the residents specifically implored the Federal Government to rehabilitate the Oyo-Ogbomoso road which they said had become a death trap.
While requesting for the establishment of a federal institution in the town, the residents said 100 acres of land has been set aside for the FederalĀ Polytechnic at Ayede village.
They also asked the Federal Government to cite industries whereĀ mangoes and cashew nut would be the raw materials whichĀ the town has in abundance.
Besides, they besought the government to complete all ongoing projects.
While responding to the requests, the vice-president said all the requests would be attended to.
The professor of Law urged the electorate to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 16 and March third elections.
“If there is no corruption, we would have enough money to develop Nigeria. Let’s vote for honest people. We shall be moving forward. The Oyo/Ogbomoso will be attended to and request of the Federal Polytechnic will be looked into, ” he said.
The vice-president also visited many villages and places in Ogbomoso axis, including Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Iluju Market, Iresa Pupa, Ikoyi-Ile and a host of others.
