Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Isiaka Olagunju, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the local government election in the state.
He stated that complaints about the late arrival of election materials at some polling units have been addressed. Olagunju made this assessment at the commission’s headquarters in Agodi, Ibadan, after monitoring the exercise in various parts of the state.

He remarked, “I am very pleased that everywhere is calm; there is no violence. We have addressed all concerns regarding the late arrival of election materials at some polling stations.”
Additionally, speaking about the monitoring exercise, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Adebola Hamzat, mentioned that the collaborative efforts of security agencies have resulted in a peaceful election. He stated that skirmishes in some parts of the state are being addressed.
“We have deployed enough security personnel; our people will see them everywhere. There is no cause for alarm; so far, so good.”
