The Oyo state government, through the ministry of youth and reputable researcher, Gift Iyioku have launched a mentorship programme to empower Oyo youths.
A director at the Ministry of Youth Affairs in the state, Mrs Oluwatoyin Folasade expressed the state government’s support for youth-related initiatives
She said, “At the Ministry of Youth, we are dedicated to creating impactful programs that support the education and mentorship of young people across Oyo State.
“Our mission is to equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to succeed in today’s world.
“We are currently engaging Ms. Iyioku’s mentorship framework to guide this process. This framework, first developed by Ms. Iyioku with the Africa Progress Group, is now being put to use by the Ministry of Youth in Oyo State.
“It connects our youth with mentors and professionals who can guide them on career and academic opportunities. We are already seeing how these improvements are positively impacting the lives of our young people and are excited to see how this will shape a brighter future for the young people in our community.
“We are happy to see such initiatives being implemented and we hope to see it being replicated in other states shortly.”
