The chairman of Oluyole local government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has strengthened his collaboration with the Oyo State Government to enhance support for people with disabilities.
As part of this effort, a dedicated office has been agreed upon to be established for persons with Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) in Oluyole Local Government.
Olatunji confirmed this development to newsmen shortly after playing host to the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi, last week Thursday in his LG office at Idi-Ayunre.
The new office, according to Olatunji, will be designed to serve as a resource center that will provide a range of services to support PWDs, including advocacy, skill acquisition programs, and access to government initiatives.
Speaking, Olatunji reaffirmed his commitment to empowering people with disabilities and reiterated his commitment to the well-being of PWDs stressing that inclusivity remains a key pillar of grassroots community development.
“The office, when completed, will represent more than just a physical space; it will be a symbol of our dedication to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their physical abilities, has equal access to opportunities.
“We are working closely with all MDAs in Oyo to expand support systems and create sustainable programs that will improve the lives of people with disabilities,” Olatunji said.
