The Oyo state government, through the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), has launched Premium Advertising Zone (PAZ) to drive investment and create economic value in the state.
In a statement signed by OYSAA’s DG, Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, on Friday, it was noted that the transformative initiative is designed to sanitise, organise, and elevate the standards of outdoor advertising within key corridors of the State, beginning with the Ibadan Metropolis.
He added that the decision was made following a high-level stakeholder engagement held on 7th August 2025 in the agency’s office in the State Secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The Director-General noted that the PAZ initiative is strategically designed to clean up the sector, establish order, drive investment, and create enduring economic and aesthetic value for Oyo State, in line with the direction and vision of the state governor, Seyi Makinde.
He further added that the first designated PAZ corridor will run from Lead City University through Challenge Car Park to Kilometre 110, serving as the pilot phase for the transformative project, adding that strategic corridors across the Ibadan metropolis will be introduced in subsequent phases.
“As part of the Public Advertisement Zone (PAZ) rollout, all existing 48-sheet and 72-sheet billboard permits within the designated kick-off corridor are hereby revoked with immediate effect. Third-party practitioners with such structures in the corridor are granted a two-month relocation window from 14th August 2025 to 14th October 2025, to dismantle and relocate their billboards outside the PAZ, subject to agency approval.
“At the expiration of this deadline, any non-compliant billboards will be removed and confiscated by the State without further notice.
“The reallocation of advertising sites within the PAZ will be strictly determined by the following criteria, Financial Standing with OYSAA, evidence of full settlement of all outstanding obligations to the Agency, operational history, proven record of compliance with OYSAA’s regulations and the use of durable, high-quality materials, demonstrated ability to sustain the PAZ’s new rate structure, preference will be given to iconic, high-impact formats such as LED boards and other premium designs.
“The Premium Advertising Zone represents a decisive step toward creating orderliness, uniformity, and aesthetic excellence in outdoor advertising. It aims to reinforce Ibadan’s profile as a modern, organised, and commercially vibrant city while unlocking new opportunities for investment in the outdoor advertising space,” he said.
