The Oyo State Government has imposed a ban on any form of meetings by head teachers or teachers during school hours, whether within or outside public school premises.
The directive, announced by Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, aims to ensure that school hours are dedicated solely to teaching and learning.
Adeniran made this announcement while overseeing school resumption activities in Ibadan, the state capital, stating, “This is a warning to all head teachers and teachers to desist from holding meetings during school hours. Henceforth, any primary school head teacher who indulges in such acts will be severely dealt with.”
He called on unions and associations within the basic education sector to comply with this new policy as the school session begins.
Adeniran also instructed Education Secretaries to ensure that all head teachers in their respective Local Government universal basic education authorities are informed of the new regulation.
