An Oyo State Magistrate Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, has arraigned four suspects over the alleged unlawful demolition of a property belonging to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) at Odo-Ona in Ibadan.

The property, which had been leased to an Ibadan-based lawyer, Olusegun Abayomi, was reportedly demolished with excavators on February 2, 2026.

The defendants—Jubril Amodu, Adekunle Moses, Akintola Olaoluwa and Mustapha Mohammed were arraigned on charges bordering on unlawful demolition, stealing, assault and forcible entry.

The defendants, who are staff members of a firm known as Planet Projects Limited, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The prosecutor, Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the defendants and others still at large allegedly conspired to commit the offences on February 2, 2026.

He alleged that the defendants forcefully encroached on the railway property located at Ago Taylor (Mile 110), Odo-Ona, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the prosecutor, the defendants demolished the property on the said date and stole electrical materials valued at about N10 million.

Akinloye further told the court that the defendants also assaulted two individuals, Oluwatoyin Adegoke and Oluwabamise Dada.

He added that the defendants allegedly seized the victims’ phones at gunpoint, demanded their passwords, accessed the devices and deleted video recordings taken during the demolition.

Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N5 million each with two sureties each in like sum.

She directed that one of the sureties must be a landed property owner with proof of ownership, while the other must be a blood relative of each defendant.

The case was adjourned until April 16 for further hearing.
