…says his death tragic, painful loss
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed sorrow over the death of the Director of Administration at the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Secretariat, Abuja, Dr. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji, describing his passing as “a tragic and painful loss not only to his immediate family, but to our party, our state, and the nation at large.”
Adeniji was kidnapped and died in the hands of his captors in Abuja.

The minister, who is the immediate past Governor of Osun State, expressed this feeling in a condolence message personally signed by him, copy of which was made available to newsmen on Friday by his Adviser on Media and Communication, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, describing the deceased as “a true progressive, an upright, loyal and committed party stalwart who served the APC and the people of Ife Central Local Government with unmatched dedication and sincerity.”
The former governor further described the death of Adeniji as cruel, unfortunate and heartbreaking, recalling that the deceased, while alive was a seasoned administrator, who had previously served with distinction as an Assistant Registrar at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
“This is a tragic and painful loss not only to his immediate family, but to our party, our state, and the nation at large. Dr. Adeniji was a brilliant mind, a bridge builder, and a grassroots mobiliser whose contributions to governance and party administration will never be forgotten. His death in such a cruel and unfortunate manner is heartbreaking,” he said.
Oyetola offered heartfelt condolences to the Adeniji family, the APC community, and the people of Ife, praying Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May Allah (SWT) accept his return and grant him eternal peace,” the minister prayed.
