Scores were feared dead over the weekend as a result of a crude oil explosion at the waterside in Omoku, the headquarters of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, in Rivers state.
Many others who sustained injuries are currently at various hospitals in the town.
According to Channels TV reports, the cause of the explosion is still unknown but the account of one of the youth leaders in the community revealed that the explosion is connected to the distribution of stolen crude oil in containers by the artisans in the community.
