Osun State’s Senator representing Osun Central in the current 10th National Assembly, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke, on his recent visit to Chief Bisi Akande’s residence in Ibadan.
He said the visit was not only mature, it was timely and filled with several political messages for those who think reaching out across the political aisle to an iconic figure like Chief Bisi Akande was a sign of remorse from the Governor and therefore PDP in Osun State.
Ajangunla, in a statement in Osogbo on Wednesday, said Governor Adeleke’s visit was a deft political gesture, unprecedented in Osun State’s history, and should be seen as reconciliatory for the continued peace and harmony Osun State is traditionally noted for.
Recall that the elder statesman and Asiwaju of Ila Orangun, Chief Bisi Akande CFR, was the former Chairman of the All Progressive Party (APC) and also the Osun State Governor between 1999 to 2003, as a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party, one of the parties which later morphed into the current APC.
Ajagunla said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s visit to the respected political icon should therefore be seen as respectful, emulatory and equally necessary to brief “Baba Akande” as he’s popularly called, on the current situation in Osun State, in the wake of recent clashes between some hoodlums masquerading as PDP members against perceived political enemies in Osun State.
