Osun Rep, Wole Oke, dumps PDP

..directs supporters in parliament, political appointees to follow suit

The political crisis rocking Osun State took a new dimension on Wednesday as the member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rep. Busayo Oluwole Oke, dumped the party.

The ranking lawmaker, who confirmed the development while speaking with the Trin Abuja, said he decided to leave the PDP after consulting with his political associates, friends, and family members.

He said, “Yes, I have resigned from the PDP along with my supporters at all levels after wide consultations.”

He explained that he had already informed the appropriate quarters via a resignation letter dated April 16, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman in Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.

Rep. Oke, who was the immediate past Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) and is the current Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, added that he was leaving the party along with his supporters in the Parliament and all political appointees at all levels, as he had already directed them to follow suit.

Rep. Oke, who was silent about his next political destination, urged his supporters to remain calm and await further directives after ongoing wide and deep consultations.

However, the lawmaker did not disclose his next political move, even as he urged his loyalists and supporters to leave the PDP and await his next direction.
