Osun: Police quiz ‘lover boy’ over girlfriend’s death

A lover boy identified simply as Yinka is currently being questioned by the Osun Command following the sudden death of his girlfriend, Bidemi Omole, at his residence in Esa-Oke, Obokun Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement from the Osun Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, the incident occurred on Friday.

The deceased reportedly fell ill and began vomiting shortly after arriving at her boyfriend’s house.

She was being rushed to a hospital for treatment by Yinka and his friends when she passed away.

Ojelabi confirmed that the boyfriend is in police custody and that a “thorough investigation is ongoing.”

He stated, “Autopsy will be conducted to unravel the cause of the death.”

A resident in the area, Taye, told newsmen that Bidemi died shortly after arriving at Yinka’s house.

The resident said the deceased was believed to have been heading for a vigil that Friday evening, as she “usually attends vigil on Fridays.”

Taye added, “We heard the cry for help and we all ran towards Yinka’s house. But before I got to the scene, a lot of people were already there. I saw some security personnel, but the crowd was a bit much, and it was already late.“
