IT was indeed a mournful realisation for foremost Osun traditional ruler, the Oloni of Eti-Oni, Oba Taiwo Dokun Thompson, whose 84-year-old mother, Olori Margaret Olatunde Thompson, died on Monday,
February 27, 2017.
Tribune Online gathered that the passage of the octogenarian occurred after she was taken to St Anne’s Church Hospital, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State, where she transited.
In a tribute to his mother, Oba Thompson stated “Her makeup is for provision of nourishment to nurture her offspring. Her instinct is to be protective against all present and near dangers ready to sacrifice herself for the survival of her offspring. Despite the uncertainties, the pains, the struggles, the sacrifices, she never looked back in regret but looked up to her creator, the Almighty God, in smiles, joy, happiness, gratitude and thanksgiving for having been given the opportunity.
Today, we celebrate motherhood in reverence and adoration, giving glory to God for our mother and thanking her for everything as she was received with the sounds of trumpets and shouts of hallelujah before her maker.”
