A prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, the Salu of Edunabon, Oba Kehinde Oladepo, has urged well-meaning Nigerians to always assist the needy in society to make their lives more meaningful.
The monarch made this call on Tuesday at an initiative program organized by a non-governmental organization, Tips Global Investment Limited, a community outreach healthcare foundation, which donated free food items to widows, the elderly, and the less privileged in the town, at his palace.
Oba Oladepo stated, “This initiative comes at a time when rising food prices and economic hardship have made access to basic food items increasingly difficult for many Nigerian households.” He further urged well-meaning Nigerians to support efforts aimed at making food more accessible.
He emphasized, “I commend the financier of this initiative. He is not from this community, yet he is providing food items for those in need. He is not a politician, nor is he seeking any favor,” the monarch noted.

“Through initiatives like this, we are encouraging massive local food production, which will positively impact the economy in the long run. The added medical outreach also complements government efforts in healthcare delivery.”
According to him, “The government cannot do this alone. We cannot keep blaming the government at all times—some of us must take responsibility. That is why we are commending the foundation for taking steps to improve the lives of the needy.”
“We are here to distribute 3kg of rice, 3kg of beans, garri, and palm oil to 2,000 households in the community to cushion the effects of hardship,” he concluded.
Earlier, food items worth thousands of naira were donated to 2,000 residents of the Edunabon community in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State to help alleviate the hunger being experienced due to the country’s current economic hardship.
The beneficiaries of the food items donated by Tips Global Investment Limited, a community outreach healthcare foundation, included widows, the elderly, and the less privileged.
Additionally, the foundation provided free medical services to over 500 elderly men and women to assess their health conditions and improve their well-being.
Speaking at the program held at the town’s palace, the founder of the NGO, Tobiloba Oyebamiji, stated that he embarked on the initiative to alleviate the suffering of the needy and give back to society.
Commenting on the initiative tagged “Feed the Community,” Oyebamiji described his upbringing as rough and challenging, saying he faced numerous hurdles before achieving his current status by the grace of God.
He further stated that he understands what poverty is and was moved by compassion to embark on this humanitarian gesture to support the needy during the current economic hardship in the country.
One of the beneficiaries, who identified himself as Adewale Adetunji, told our reporter that the food items came at the right time, as he had nothing left to eat before he was invited to be part of the program.
