Osun: Chartered Accountant emerges Oba-elect of Eko-Ende

A Chartered Accountant, Adekunle AbdulWaheed Babatunde has emerged as the Oba of Ekoende in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Osun State.

A statement from the Media office of Oba Ekoende Elect, signed by AbdulAfees Afolabi, stated that the decision to kingmaker was made after a rigorous and comprehensive selection process, which involved careful evaluation of his qualifications, experience, and commitment to the betterment of Ekoende.

The statement further stated that the “Oba-elect, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA), he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial matters.

“With his exceptional track record in both professional and community service, we firmly believe that his leadership will usher in a new era of progress and growth for Ekoende.

“The selection process was conducted following our long-standing customs and traditions. all 5 Afobajes led by High Chief Isac Kolawole Ogunkeye considered Alhaji Adekunle’s qualifications, character, and dedication to community development. His commitment to preserving our cultural heritage, coupled with his vision for a prosperous Ekoende, made him the unanimous choice for the position of Oba of Ekoende.

“As the Oba Elect of Ekoende, Alhaji Adekunle Abduwaheed Bamidele will assume his role as the custodian of our community’s cultural heritage, a unifying figure among our people, and a liaison between the community and the government. We are confident that his wisdom, fairness, and judiciousness will guide us toward sustainable development and the overall welfare of our beloved community.

“We call upon all residents, organisations, and government agencies to rally behind and support Alhaji Adekunle Abduwaheed Babatunde as he takes up this esteemed position. Through collaboration and unity, we can pave the way for a prosperous and harmonious future for Ekoende and its residents.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Osun State Government, the Afobajes community leaders and all those who actively participated in the selection process.

“Their efforts were instrumental in ensuring a transparent and credible selection process that upholds the aspirations and values of our community,” the statement read.
