The Osun State House of Assembly on Monday enacted the Electricity Bill, 2025, to establish the Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Olamide Tiamiyu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, made this known in a statement in Osogbo.
According to him, the state lawmakers also approved amendments to the Osun State Customary Courts of Appeal and the Osun State District Customary Courts.
The statement stressed, “The Electricity Bill, an executive bill, was passed on Monday following its third reading during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker.”

“House Majority Leader, Kofoworola Adewunmi, initiated the motion for the bill’s third reading after the Committee on Water Resources and Energy, represented by Taofiq Olayiwola, presented its report.”
“The motions, seconded by Tajudeen Adeyemi, Sikiru Bajepade, and Folorunsho Ogundare, received unanimous support during a voice vote conducted by the Speaker,” it concluded.
