The member representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun State in the House of Representatives, Hon Olumide Osoba has empowered 300 Market women in the Constituency under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) programme tagged “Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES)”.
At the epoch-making occasion which took place at the Peter Akinola Foundation Youth Vocational Training centre. along Lagos Abeokuta Road, Obada, Abeokuta, Ogun State, a soft loan of N10,000 was given to 300 market women each.
The market women were drawn from the three local governments in the constituency comprising Abeokuta North. Obafemi Owode and Odeda Local Government Areas.
In addition, other women from Ogun East and West Senatorial Districts also benefitted from the empowerment programme facilitated through the NDE by the lawmaker.

In his remarks, Hon Osoba who was represented by the member representing Obafemi-Owode Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly Hon Damilola Kayode Soneye urged the beneficiaries to use the soft loan for the purpose it was meant for which was to better their lots and improve their standard of living.
He assured the people of the constituency that scheme would go round across the political parties and urged them to continue to live in peace and harmony amongst themselves to allow for meaningful development to take place in the area.
Speaking, the Ogun State Coordinator of the NDE, who represented the Director-General, Engr. Femi Oyenekan commended the initiative of Hon Osoba for his support towards the programme.
He advised the beneficiaries to judiciously make use of the loan and make a good turnover for appreciable opportunity in the future
Also, an official of the agency, Gbade Ogunsiji, sensitised the beneficiaries on how to make the soft loan more useful and appreciable.
