THE vice chancellor of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, has promised that the state-owned institution will continue to produce first-rate graduates under his watch.

Agboola stated this recently during his inauguration as the 11th vice chancellor of the 40-year-old institution, held at the OGD Lecture Hall of the university.

The VC noted that every success recorded in the institution was the cumulative efforts made by his predecessors while in office, assuring that many other lofty ideas he has for the university will be brought to bear.

He hinted that a 10-year strategic plan had been put in place to navigate the university towards further development.

The VC said that his administration will continue to promote innovative teaching strategies through staff training and an open-door policy for all, particularly the students.

In his remarks, the pro-chancellor of the institution, Professor Toyin Ashiru, noted that the institution had consistently been providing quality tertiary education in the state, nation and beyond.

“Olabisi Onabanjo University has been blessed with exceptional leadership and it is crucial that we build on our strengths to further develop our intellectual capacity as well as re-shape our vision,” he said.
